Alexandros Argyriou, a first-class critic and historian of Greek literature, was among the prisoners on Makronisos isle. I had filmed his testimony, but like many others, it didn't make it o the
final cut of the film.
After his passing, his niece, the well-known scholar and author Angela Kastrinaki, organized an evening dedicated to him and asked me if we could make use of
that footage in a form that could be screened on the event.
What came out of it, was a posthumous film that used a very engaging piece of footage to its full potential and was the
only documented testimony, in which Argyriou talks about his experience on Makronisos.
