Pantelis and I had a special bond; I had been his assistant director twice.
In the years 1993-1994, I had worked next to him on the preparation of “Acropol”, as well as for a theatre production of Ariel Dorfman’s “Death and the Maiden”.
But mainly, I had an important role as his associate for the celebrations of the centennial of cinema, he was supervising on behalf of the Athens city council.
Several years later, in late 1997 and early 1998, I was his assistant during the post production of “Ola einai dromos” (“It’s a long road”).
In the following year, he granted me use of his production house for “Patagonia”
Since we were very familiar with each other, that intimacy resulted in a wonderful episode, in which Voulgaris detailed his experience in the “To proxenio tis Annas” (“The engagement of Anna”) and made reference to the hard years of the dictatorship.
Pantelis is a great storyteller.
