The trigger was an honorary event for the Greek Normandy veterans, organized by the French Embassy in Athens.
I managed to find five of them who were willing to participate in a documentary and recount their stories.
They did it with great passion. The result was less than spectacular, but it succeeded in conveying great emotion and was a powerful historical testimony.
I will always remember those honorable and jubilant elderly men, who I assume are no longer alive.
